Piano lessons for all ages and levels of learners in and around Wimbledon, London. Friendly, supportive teaching tailored to your goals, whatever your age or starting point.

I love helping people discover what they can do at the piano.

I believe that everyone can develop a meaningful relationship with music, whatever their age, experience or starting point. My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each individual, creating a space where students can learn, grow in confidence and enjoy making music.

Over many years of teaching, I have worked with children, young people and adults at every stage of their musical journey, including through my work at Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s CYM, The Royal Scottish Academy and City Lit in Covent Garden, London.

I teach at my studio in Wimbledon, London or online, over Zoom.

Testimonials

“I enrolled at London’s City Lit adult education college in 2014. I realised I had struck extremely lucky with having Chrysa as my tutor. She was immediately encouraging and motivating and, thanks to her professional tuition and positive approach to learning, I very quickly became committed to continuing with piano studies. After reaching grade 5 level pieces, I decided to work towards taking exams and, thanks to Chrysa’s guidance and encouragement, attained grades 5,6 & 7.  Chrysa’s teaching style is upbeat, inspirational and rigorous and her feedback is always clear and specific.  She inspires you to keep going and her systematic and analytical guidance is invaluable. I would unconditionally recommend Chrysa as a tutor to anyone, at any age, wishing to learn, progress with and enjoy playing the piano.”

Jan, City Lit Student

“I have been preparing for my ABRSM Grade 4 piano exam with Chrysa through online lessons and I couldn’t be happier. Chrysa is a fantastic educator and tutor, she is extremely well organised and structured and also friendly and energetic…Our piano lessons are taking place online, I am finding they are as interactive, engaging and productive as face-to-face lessons I have done in the past. Chrysa also knows exactly what is needed for the ABRSM exam and has a very systematic approach to preparing you for it. What also stands out with Chrysa is that she is focused on helping me develop the skills and confidence to actually become a better pianist and performer (going beyond the exam preparation).”

“I came to Chrysa for lessons to improve my knowledge of the keyboard and to get some good piano technique under my fingers (I’m a professional guitarist!) to help with aspects of my job. She did a great job sorting out my clumsy efforts and channelled my existing musical knowledge into a working knowledge of the keyboard. Chrysa is a very talented teacher and musician.”

“Starting piano as an adult felt daunting, but I had the great good fortune of having Chrysa as my teacher. Lessons combine practice with theory in a way that keeps it interesting. She has endless patience and is always encouraging and supportive.”

Jenny, private student (in-person)

“I enrolled at City Lit, London, in 2015 and was fortunate enough to have Chrysa as my teacher. I was so relieved to have found someone as patient, friendly and knowledgeable as Chrysa. I started at Grade 1 and was able to play most of the pieces ascribed to grade 4/5. I can read music and have the confidence to be able to play …my favourite pieces and this is all down to the teaching abilities of Chrysa, who is also an amazing pianist herself. “

Julie, City Lit student

“If you’re lucky enough to have Chryssa as your piano teacher you will never look back. She taught me for three years. In that time my entire approach to the piano was turned on its head and I made significant progress. Most of what she taught me has stuck with me to this day. She is a very gifted musician who also has the rare talent to excel as a teacher. She’s exacting but empathetic and has a knack of very quickly assessing where her pupils need help.”
